Working from home? The Under Counter Water Filtration System could be an ideal solution

Working from home with limited space? The under-counter water filtration system could be a great way to ensure the water you’re drinking at home is clean, healthy and great tasting.

What is an under counter water filtration system and how does it work?

An under counter water filtration system is a set of water filters that are small enough to fit right under your kitchen counter. An extra faucet for the filtered water is installed above your sink beside your regular faucet. In addition, the filters can be connected to your coffee machine, or to a fridge with ice or water capabilities. If you prefer chilled water, the system can be customized with a chiller that fits under your kitchen counter.

Lucid Water uses a triple stage filtration system that is designed exclusively to remove impurities from BC’s tap water. These impurities include chlorine & disinfection byproducts (some of which are suspected carcinogens), odour, fine sediment and cysts such as cryptosporidium and giardia, and in some cases, lead and manganese. Most municipalities in BC, including Metro Vancouver, do not add fluoride to the tap water.

In addition to removing contaminants, your water filtration system will improve the taste, smell and appearance of the water you’re drinking.

What about filter changes and system maintenance?

It’s important to ensure that your water filters are changed and/or cleaned on a regular basis in order to prevent bacterial growth. The good news is that Lucid Water keeps track of the age of your filters and we contact you regularly to schedule maintenance, which is based on your specific usage. Depending on the level of consumption, filters are changed and the system is fully sanitized every 1-2 years.

How does Lucid Water’s filtration system compare to Brita or under counter systems sold at a hardware store?

Brita filters are the same regardless of location, and they are not targeted to the specific needs of British Columbians. These filters are designed to remove bigger sediments and chlorine, as opposed to fine sediments that BC water contains. Moreover, when you have an under counter system, there is no need to constantly refill the water jug and there is nothing cluttering your counterspace.

There are various other under counter filtration systems that are sold at hardware stores. When you purchase the system, you have to hire a plumber to do the installation and, in many cases, buy the faucet separately. The Lucid Water system comes with a trio of filters designed specifically for BC’s unique water, a stylish faucet included at no extra cost, and installation is also included. Our system is built from the best quality materials and we use the best quality filter brands and filter housing components. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, we stand by our products!

How much does it cost?

Lucid Water’s triple stage system has a one-time cost of $295 and it includes the faucet and installation. Additional details can found on our website and in our previous blog on this topic.
